FACILE SYNTHESES OF PLUMBAGIC ACID

Plumbagic acid[β-(2, 3-dihydroxybenzoyl)butyric acid](1), hasbeen synthesized from commcrcially available catechol by two facile routeswith overall yields of 18.6% and 53.5%, rcspectively
