3,4-Dihydropyrimidin-2(1H)-ones (DHPMs) were oxidized with 1.2 equiv.of nitrosonium tetrafluoroborate (NO+BF4-) topyrimidin-2(1H)-ones in acetonitrile at room temperature in high yields.
